MILITARY TEST RESULTS
USA "SAFETY" ARMOR SEAL
TIRE SEALANTS
A SPECIAL PRODUCT FROM PHIL GARY ENTERPRISE USA
The British Army conducted extensive testing of Safety-Seal tire sealant and Armor Safety-Seal tire sealant
for Military use. The test involved drilling holes in tires, shooting holes in tires, and driving tires over spikes
ranging in diameter from 5mm to 30mm (1 1/4"). The test procedures included checking air pressure, puncturing
tires, driving tires four miles over rough country and re-checkingair pressure. Then the tires were driven over
100 miles cross country and returned to re-check air pressure. All tests were conducted with less than 5% air pressure
loss.
Vehicles used in testing were 8 ton All Terrain Army Vehicles, Army Motorbikes, Army Landrovers, and Army Staff
Cars. Tires tested included Michelin, Dunlop, and Goodyear.
Tires were also subjected to ballistic tests with rifle fire from distances of 100, 200, and 300 meters. Tires
were shot in the tire treads and in tire side walls.
Tires on Army Landrovers and Army All Terrain Vehicles lost less than 5% air pressure, even with 30mm spike punctures.
Test results showed that Commercial and Armor Safety-Seal had effective puncture sealing capabilities and was able
to seal induced punctures and bullet holes sufficiently for a vehicle to drive out of a dangerous situation and
to continue with its mission.
Subsequently, the British Army used Commercial and Armor Safety-Seal in Army vehicle tires in Bosnia and Rwanda
with successful results.
Additional testing was conducted on an armored Range Rover with Heavy Duty Safety-Seal in tubeless tires. A hand
grenade was detonated 70cm from the front tire. After the grenade was detonated, the Range Rover was driven up
to 60mph. After several days of driving, the tire was dismounted and examined. The Heavy Duty Safety-Seal had sealed
18 shrapnel penetrations.
