SAFETY-SEAL, was developed over a decade ago as a flat preventative and maintenance aid for tires on trucks and heavy duty vehicles that are used in the general fleet and intermodal industry. SAFETY-SEAL, when pumped in measured quantities into pressurized tires through the valve stem, eliminates porosity leaks and other slow leaks that cause underinflation, seals most 1/4 inch punctures, dissipates tread heat and extends the tires tread life 20 to 25%. The sealant remains fluid inside the tire. As the tire rotates, the emulsion spreads over the liner. Once the puncture occurs, centrifugal force and the jet action of the air trying to escape propels the SAFETY-SEAL into the opening where the fibers adhere to the sides of the puncture instantly sealing the leak with minimal loss of air pressure. As the tire flexes and spreads under the weight load and rotation, the multi-sized fibers interlock to build a permanent solid plug. Along with punctures up to 1/4 inch this treatment also seals bead, rim and hard to find leaks plus defective liners and pinhole leaks that will cause the tires to underinflate. Underinflation is the cause of several problems, mainly tire wear. The SAFETY-SEAL coating inside the tire surface eliminates tire underinflation and, at the same time, absorbs tread heat build-up by carrying the heat from the tread to the SAFETY-SEAL, and then to the rim where it can be cooled, thereby extending the life of the tire by 20 to 25%. In concert with helping preserve tread rubber, thereby extending tire life, SAFETY-SEAL helps the tire maintain balance, eliminating load vibration and damage to equipment, load and driver fatigue. SAFETY-SEAL will reduce flats in tube type tires up to 70%. However, several operating factors associated with tube-type tires can hinder the effectiveness of this or any sealant if not countered with good maintenance. SAFETY-SEAL's corrosion inhibiting and rubber preservation formula will not damage tires or steel rims. It is water soluble for quick and easy cleanup and remains stable to -30 degrees.
